Homemade Tacos- Using a Muffin Pan

Homemade Tacos- Using a Muffin Pan
RATING: 6.5/10

One night, the family and I wanted to have some tacos for dinner. Debating to either go to Taco Bell or make some at home, we chose the home option because nothing beats home cooked food. Well that night, I had bought some flour tortillas to make burritos with but wanted to also make my own tacos instead of using the ones out of the box. I found this idea on Pinterest.com. How to make your own tacos at home just by using a muffin pan. The photos shown are before and after results of my meal.

What you will need:
   - Muffin Pan
   - Flour Tortillas
   - Hamburger
   - Chopped Tomatoes (Self cut or Can)
   - Hot Sauce:
       - I used: Louisiana The Perfect Hot Sauce
   - Salt/Pepper

My sides I chose:
   - Whole Potatoes (Can)
   -  Mixed Vegetables (Stoffers)
   -  Pinto beans (Can)

1) Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Then you will need flip the muffin pan as shown in picture one.

2) Spray the whole side with Pam or what ever you may have. You can also butter it if you like but spraying is easier.

3) Place the pan in the oven while the over rack is pulled out as far as it can go. Then you will need to place the tortillas carefully between each muffin slot. This was a little tricky for me at first because I was trying to put them on before I stuck the pan in the oven and when I would move the pan, they would come out. That was when I put the pan in the oven first and it made it a whole lot easier. I think it took about less than 15 minutes to cook but keep an eye on it. When the tips start turning brown, that is how you know it is done.

4) While the tortillas are cooking, get your sauce pan and fry your hamburger. I kept it simple and lined the pan with butter and then cooked my hamburger.

5) When your hamburger gets done, drain the grease. After you do that, then add a pinch of salt and pepper.

6) Add two splashes of hot sauce ( Equals up to three spoon fulls) to the hamburger and then mix.

7) Tomatoes:
    - Option 1: You can either add the tomatoes to your hamburger mixture if everyone in the household likes tomatoes
    - Option 2: You can just cook them in the microwave  and put in a separate bowl. I had to do this option because of the hubby does not like tomatoes.. lol

Then you just put them together and wha la! Your food is ready. You can choose any sides you want but I listed the sides I used just to show what we had that night.

My rating: 6.5/10

The reason why rated this a 6.5 is mainly because of the taco shells. One of the main reasons why tacos are good is because of the type of shell you use. Whether it is soft or crunchy. Making home made shells in this manner was a cool idea but the resulting factor was not the greatest. I did have some difficulty on adjusting the shells and they still turned out different. I think next time, I will soak the tortillas in eggs and seasoning to see if it can give it more flavor. Also the tortillas that I got did not taste right. They were really doughy. That is what I get for buying a off brand. I think I will go with the name brand to try it out. But the method of using the back of a muffin pan was pretty neat but turned out oddly shaped and were hard to eat on. But the meal in general was still pretty good. Again.. Nothing beats home cooked meal.

Movie Rating: National Lampoon's The Legend of Awesomest Maximus

National Lampoon's The Legend of Awesomest Maximus
(2011)

- Comedy -
Director: Jeff Kanew
Writer: Jason Burinescu

RATING: 7.5/10

THESIS

Comedy based on the movie 300, the main character goes on a journey to bring honor to the king (Father in Law) and if he succeeds, he will possibly gain the crown. Filled with lots of sexual content (Gay and Straight), this movie is not your typical 300 comedy but makes awkwardness into laughter.

MY THOUGHTS

Wow.. Wow.. lol  This movie was funny, weird and just plain.. stupid.. But again... in a weird and funny kinda way. Yes.. It is making fun of the movie 300 but it is also filled with a lot of sexual content. Both straight and gay.. Mostly gay which made it even hilarious!! I don't how to explain it but if you have gay male friends that are more like queens, then you know how hilarous and drama queen like they can sometimes be which is awesome! There was some parts of the movie I thought was just stupid and boring. And also, there was indeed some points of the film, I fast forwarded because again.. It was stupid.. I would actually suggest someone to watch this movie and would prob watch it again. But due to was ridiculous some of the scenes were, the plot line being kinda poor and thinking they could've shortened it to make it better, that is why it got a Rating of 7.5/10

Spicy and Seasoned Chicken

Spicy and Seasoned Chicken Legs  (Not Actual Picture.. Chicken was in different pan)

Rating: 8.5/10

Here lately... I have been trying to come up with some creative and cheap ways to make even the simplest food into yummy masterpieces... Well... in my mind anyways.. In order to be able to do this, I refuse to go grocery shopping unless there is almost no food in the house. With the exception of always making sure I have milk, eggs, bread, and cereal. So that is where my creation of the spicy and seasoned chicken legs came from.

Ingredients:
- Chicken Legs
- Extra Olive Oil Salad Dressing
- Salt/Pepper (Palm Full for each)
- Texas Pete Hot Sauce
- Seasoned Salt

All you have to do is place the legs in a pan, mix the Extra Olive Oil salad dressing, Salt/Pepper and 1/2 cup of Texas Pete (Or more if you want it hotter) in a bowl. Then pour the mixture all over the the chicken legs. Then afterwards, you sprinkle seasoned salt all over the chicken.. Not too much or it may be too salty. Just enough to gain some top layer. Bake in the oven at 400 degrees and it takes about 45minutes or so.

These ingredients was simply things I randomly found in my cabinets or fridge. You can use any sides for this but I used mac/cheese and mash potatoes.. But next time, I think I am going to make some homemade potato salad to go with this. .. YUM!

So why did I have give this a rating of 8.5? Only because the chicken was good, very moist and had a wonderful flavor. But I think that if I was to soak the chicken in the mixture listed above over night, it would have enhanced the flavor greatly. And I personally think it would be so much better if I used this mixture using boneless skinless chicken. But don't get wrong.. the chicken legs turned out really good.
